made a super cool hat of my own design with a slip-stitch pattern based on the squares of the number 2.
even the yarn is super cool – it’s made of a self-striping soy/wool blend.

but i forgot that the super cool slip-stitch pattern makes a smaller hat than the standard sticth & I need to add extra stitches to adjust.
it’s ok, ET doesnt seem to mind.
it is wearable, but a little too snug.

(this is how i keep my mind from wandering when i do homework)
i am hoping to find a hip toddler to give it a good home.
love,
serge

i finished my assigned scupture a class or two ahead of schedule, so Mrs Garrett (that’s her name) told me to make a bonus item.
and here he is:

based on Greg Brady’s mystical necklace, but a little bit self-portrait (check out that pomp!)
We have moved on to the next project, so I dont know when I will finish him, but it is just as well – the entire time I was carving, I would stop every few minutes to yell “OOGA-BOOGA!” a la Crash Bandicoot.
I dont think the rest of the class approved. they’re all Serious and Quiet – what’s up with that?

this was my first attempt at a “grown-up” painting, with properly mixed colors, using big-boy paints and brushes.

It was also the first to feature a semi-realistic subject matter beyond penguins on the beach, monkey nuns, or celebrity day of the dead skeletons.
I like it, but I still think it needs a penguin.

Mom needed an emergency baby gift for one of her cousins daughters kids or something. This is what we made:

The cool thing about this one is that it uses four strands of yarn on jumbo needles, and can be made in less than a week.

I think it only took me a weekend, but that was during winter break. It is super soft and snuggly – so much so that little whatshisname almost didnt get it.

This is what I made with my emergency yarn purchase.
As you can see, it would not have worked if I did not have red yarn.
This is the “Heart-Felt Wishes” bowl from www.fiberfemmes.com. Bad puns aside, I think it turned very well.
I used two stands of Patons Classic Wool and size 13 needles, just like the pattern called for.
Here it is Before Felting:
It went surprisingly fast, and I almost had it on time to give away on valentines day.
I blame Physics homework for the delay.
Sadly, I have just discovered that my fancy new W/D is not that great when it comes to felting projects. I had to finish this one off by hand. Considering I already have the yarn for at least three more felted projects, I am gonna have to start doing laundry at friend’s houses. That’ll be fun.
